A two-player card game collection.
This app features three distinct card games: Four Card Golf, Six Card Golf, and Scat. Choose your preferred game from the Settings menu.
Four Card Golf Rules
This is a card game for two players.
Much like real golf, the objective is to finish with the lowest possible score.
Each game consists of nine rounds. At the start of a round, each player is dealt four cards face down. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with the top card placed face-up to begin the discard pile.
Before play starts, players may take one quick look at the two cards closest to them in their square layout. These cards must remain secret from the opponent. Players cannot look at their cards again unless they discard them during play or reveal them for scoring at the round's end.
On a turn, a player may draw a card from the draw pile. This card can be used to replace any of the four cards in their layout, but they cannot look at the card being replaced. Try to remember your card positions. Place the replaced card face-up on the discard pile. Alternatively, you may draw from the discard pile but must then use that card to replace one in your layout before discarding it; you cannot discard it unused.
A player may also choose to knock, which ends their turn. Play continues normally for other players (they may draw or discard), but knocking is no longer allowed. The round concludes after this.
Scoring:
- Any vertical or horizontal pair of cards with the same value scores 0 points.
- Jokers are worth -2 points.
- Kings score 0 points.
- Queens and Jacks are worth 10 points each.
- All other cards are worth their face value.
- If all four cards are the same rank, the score is -6 points.
Six Card Golf Rules
This is also a two-player card game.
The goal remains the same: achieve the lowest score, just like in golf.
A game has nine rounds. Each player starts a round with six cards face down. The remaining cards form the draw pile, with one card face-up in the discard pile.
First, each player turns two of their cards face up. Then, they work to reduce their points by swapping cards for lower-value ones or by pairing cards of the same rank in a column.
Players take turns drawing one card from either the draw or discard pile. The drawn card can be swapped with one of the player's cards or simply discarded. Swapping with a face-down card turns the new card face up. Discarding the card ends the turn. The round ends once all of a player's cards are face-up.
Scoring:
- Pairs of the same card in a column score 0 points.
- Jokers are worth -2 points.
- Kings score 0 points.
- Queens and Jacks are worth 20 points each.
- All other cards are worth their numeric rank.
To swap a card with one from the discard pile, tap on your card. To play from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal a card, then tap the discard pile to discard it or tap one of your cards to swap.
