12 Biti (12 Tehni) is a strategic two-player board game.
12 BTI, also known as a traditional game, is a chess-like experience for two players. Each player begins with 12 pawns. When moving a bead (also called Tehni or Guti), a player has two main options: first, if all adjacent positions around the bead are empty, it can be moved to any vacant spot; second, a player can capture an opponent's bead by jumping over it. The winner is the first player to capture all 12 of their opponent's beads.
This game shares similarities with Draughts or Checkers, sometimes referred to as dame or damas. It is also comparable to the Arabic game Quirkat (or al-qirq), known as Alquerque (القرقات). Other similar games include Halma, Chinese Checkers, and Konane. The board and setup of Alquerque closely resemble the Bara Biti game. While the board setup for Draughts or Checkers is different, anyone familiar with those games can easily learn to play Quirkat, Alquerque (القرقات), and 12 Biti.
