WHAT IS STENCILETTO?
Stenciletto is a collection of progressive brain exercises using basic geometric shapes. It aims to develop and sharpen visual and spatial perception skills. Anyone can enjoy it – players just need to recognize common geometric shapes and understand how a stencil works.
Solving each puzzle requires a blend of critical thinking skills: visual and spatial perception, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving—all at once. It looks simple, but it’s mentally challenging. Your task is to tap geometric stencils in the right sequence to recreate the target pattern. It’s tougher than it seems and will definitely get you thinking!
The game was developed over ten years by an experienced teacher, with input from children, teens, adults, and individuals with learning disabilities or brain injuries. All found it engaging and motivating.
In this latest update, we’ve introduced Education Mode. This makes the game classroom-friendly. One purchase unlocks all relevant content, with controls for content access, internet, Game Center, and sharing. Education Mode supports Family Sharing, making it great for homeschoolers too.
HISTORY OF THE GAME
Originally called the Stencil Design IQ Test, the game was created by early 20th-century psychologist Grace Arthur Ph.D. She recognized that non-verbal skills are central to intelligence. The activity proved suitable for children as young as seven, as well as university professors. Arthur used it to assess the IQs of Native American and deaf children, who often scored poorly on verbal IQ tests due to limited schooling. With this tool, she showed their intelligence matched that of educated Americans.
WHAT'S IN THE GAME?
Two game types are included. Classic Games use Grace Arthur’s original stencils—squares, circles, triangles, crosses—familiar to most players. World Games offer extended challenges for those with strong perception and logic skills.
Stenciletto includes over 600 graded puzzles. Every level offers a free set to try (60 free puzzles in total).
Each paid game contains 15 puzzles. Complete a Classic Game to unlock an animated Smiley, each inspired by historical or mythological figures to reflect diverse cultures. These fun rewards also help track your progress and achievements.
Choose from several play modes:-
• Mortal Mode is the default—buy lives or wait for them to regenerate. Timed and scored, with Mortal leaderboards.
• Immortal Mode gives unlimited lives; just refill your life bank when needed. Timed and scored, with Immortal leaderboards.
• Mindful Mode has no timer or scoring, letting you relax and take your time.
• Education Mode unlocks both Immortal and Mindful Mode (Mortal Mode can be turned off).
