Russian Checkers 8×8 Rules:
Move and Capture:
- The game begins with White's move.
- Pieces move exclusively on dark squares.
- Capturing an opponent's piece is mandatory if possible.
- Captures can be made both forward and backward.
- Kings have the ability to move and capture along any diagonal.
- The Turkish strike rule applies, allowing only one capture per move.
- When multiple capture options are available, players can choose any, not just the longest.
- Upon reaching the opponent's back rank, a piece becomes a king and can immediately move as a king if the opportunity arises.
Draw Conditions:
- A draw is declared if a player with checkers and three or more kings against one opponent's king fails to capture within 15 moves after the balance of forces is established.
- In games with kings only, a draw is declared if the balance of forces remains unchanged for 30 moves in 4-5 piece endings or 60 moves in 6-7 piece endings.
- If a player with three pieces (any combination) against one opponent's king on the "high road" cannot capture within 5 moves.
- A draw occurs if only kings move for 15 moves without any captures or promotion of checkers.
- Three repetitions of the same position by the same player will result in a draw.
International Checkers 10×10 Rules:
Move and Capture:
- The game starts with White's move.
- Pieces are restricted to dark squares.
- Mandatory capture applies when possible.
- Captures are allowed in both directions.
- Kings can move and capture along any diagonal.
- The Turkish strike rule limits one capture per move.
- The majority rule requires capturing the maximum number of pieces when multiple options exist.
- A regular piece reaching the opponent's back rank during a capture continues as a regular piece if further captures are possible.
- A piece reaching the opponent's back rank by a move or capture becomes a king and stops, resuming as a king on the next move.
