Following the remarkable success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive is considering a port to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33's Director Guillaume Broche shared insights into the studio's plans post-launch.
Broche highlighted the game's impact, stating, "The success of the game changes everything for us," emphasizing that the team is now actively discussing their future steps. When pressed about a potential Switch 2 release, Broche responded thoughtfully, "It's too early to confirm anything, but we are inundated with opportunities right now. We are still sorting through what we'll pursue. A Switch 2 release? That could definitely be interesting."
Given the buzz around the Switch 2 and the acclaim Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has received as one of the year's top-rated games, a release on Nintendo's next-gen handheld seems like a fitting move. No Official Merchandise Yet, But Plans in Motion
Amidst the game's soaring popularity, Sandfall Interactive is also fielding numerous requests, including the creation of official merchandise. Notably, fans have expressed a strong desire for an official plush of the beloved character, Esquie. However, the studio has cautioned fans about counterfeit merchandise circulating online.
In a Twitter (X) post dated May 14, Sandfall Interactive warned, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed." They further noted that many of these unauthorized products feature AI-generated artwork, which they strongly advise against purchasing due to potential scams.
On a positive note, Sandfall Interactive is actively working on bringing official Esquie plushies to market. Their post added, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
