There's still a glimmer of hope for Gandhi to grace Civilization 7 as a leader. This revelation came from an IGN interview with Civ 7's lead designer, Ed Beach, on February 13, 2025. While Gandhi's inclusion isn't immediate, Beach suggested that it could happen down the line through a DLC.
During the IGN interview, Beach shed light on the exclusion of past civilizations and their leaders from Civ 7. "So I would say we haven't forgotten about anybody who's been in our game before," Beach stated. "Certainly civilizations, there's a lot of discussion right now about where's Great Britain or England, why aren't they in our game?"
The decision to omit Britain and India from Civ 7 stemmed from the necessity to make room for new and exciting civilizations. "There're just too many popular choices, and we always want to have a few fresh ones that sound really new and exciting to people," Beach explained. "So things are getting left behind, but we always are looking at the big picture, when we're going to bring leaders or civs into the fold. So there's hope for Gandhi, yet."
Given the extensive range of DLCs released for Civilization 6, it's reasonable to anticipate that Gandhi will eventually join Civilization 7. However, the precise timeline for this iconic leader's return remains uncertain at this point.
