However, Wizards of the Coast has just unveiled an exciting sneak peek to keep the excitement alive, showcasing over a dozen new cards from the set. This reveal includes iconic characters like Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and more, ensuring a thrilling addition to the Magic universe.
In addition to the already revealed four commander cards featuring Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra, this new look offers a variety of powerful legendary cards. Today's reveal also highlights some unique features of the set, including Summons, which are Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can call upon for aid in battle, as seen with Summon: Shiva in the gallery. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, exemplified by Cecil's dual nature as both a Dark Knight and a Redeemed Paladin.
The Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards, with 55 of them being legendary borderless cards. These cards are illustrated by fan-favorite artists from the rich history of Final Fantasy, adding an extra layer of excitement and nostalgia.
Set for release on June 13, the Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy set will be fully draftable and Standard-legal. It will launch alongside four preconstructed Commander decks, each themed around a different Final Fantasy game: 6, 7, 10, and 14. Each deck will contain 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing cards featuring fresh Final Fantasy art, ensuring a comprehensive and immersive gaming experience.
