However, this enthusiasm led to controversy when Nexus Mods removed modifications that replaced Captain America's head with images of Donald Trump and Joe Biden. In a private Reddit discussion, Nexus Mods' owner, TheDarkOne, explained the decision, emphasizing the need to avoid bias by removing both the Trump and Biden mods on the same day. TheDarkOne stated, "To prevent bias, we eliminated the Biden moderator on the same day as the Trump moderator."
