Netflix is releasing a puzzle game, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, to coincide with their upcoming sci-fi adventure film, The Electric State. This retro-futuristic puzzle game launches March 18th, just days after the film's March 14th release on Netflix. Directed by the Russo brothers and starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the film features a post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate 1990s America filled with giant robots.
More Than Just a Movie Tie-in
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo isn't a simple movie adaptation; it's a prequel exploring the childhood of key characters Chris and Michelle through a unique game-within-a-game structure. Developed by BUCK Games (creators of the popular Steam game Let's! Revolution!) in collaboration with AGBO, the game promises engaging gameplay.
The game features a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series, but with a distinct 1980s aesthetic. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the story unfolds over five years, offering a deeper understanding of Chris and Michelle's journey before the film's events. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles to uncover the secrets of this strange world.
Netflix Expands its Gaming Lineup
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo continues Netflix's trend of releasing interactive spin-offs. Their gaming catalog is rapidly expanding with titles like Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, Too Hot to Handle, Money Heist: Ultimate Choice, and Squid Game: Unleashed.
Netflix subscribers can find the game on the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for our next article on the new game Hello Kitty My Dream Store.
