The series returns to the present tense to delve deeper into the nature of humanity through the experiments on Neverland. That the episode takes its name from a masterpiece of body horror—David Cronenberg's 1986 Jeff Goldblum-led goop-stravaganza—serves a genuine narrative purpose in this sixth chapter. More than that, however, it exemplifies what this series does right as a modern entry in a long-running franchise and pop culture icon.
