by Harper Dec 05,2025

Dell relaunched the iconic Alienware Area-51 prebuilt gaming PCs earlier this year, initially offering only the RTX 5080 graphics card. Now, you can customize your system with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, the most powerful GPU available today. Even better, one of the two preconfigured models is currently discounted.

Alienware Area-51 Intel Core Ultra 9 285K RTX 5090 Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)

This Alienware Area-51 gaming PC is now $4,999.99 after a $500 instant discount. It features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and a 2TB SSD. The Core Ultra 9 285K, Intel’s latest flagship CPU, delivers exceptional gaming and workstation performance. While it doesn’t significantly outpace the i9-14900K, it remains Intel’s top all-purpose processor. The system includes a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler and a 1,500W Platinum power supply.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell introduced the revamped Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis, resembling the 2024 R16 model, features updated cooling and aesthetics. The I/O panel has moved to the top, and the tempered glass side panel now covers the entire side, replacing a smaller window. Side vents have been removed, with air intakes now at the bottom and front. Alienware’s positive airflow design prioritizes intake over exhaust, reducing dust buildup. The system includes a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more robust power supply to support next-gen CPUs and GPUs.

RTX 5090: The Ultimate Graphics Card

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 stands as the most powerful consumer GPU available. While Nvidia emphasizes software enhancements, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 delivers a 25%-30% performance boost over the RTX 4090 in raw rasterization. It also offers 32GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM compared to the 24GB GDDR6 in the 4090. This GPU is scarce at retail and often sells for $3,500-$4,000 on eBay.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas

“The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has surpassed the RTX 4090, though with a smaller leap than past generations. For non-AI gaming, it offers one of the smallest performance uplifts in recent years. However, DLSS 4 provides significant gains in supported games, though 75% of frames rely on AI generation.”
