It's back, once again. Seth MacFarlane's American Dad is making a triumphant return to Fox, with its second debut scheduled for 2026. This exciting news comes alongside the announcement of new episodes of MacFarlane's other beloved series, Family Guy.
The return of both series to Fox marks a significant homecoming. Originally airing on Fox from 2005 to 2014, the shows moved to TBS until March of this year. Their comeback is part of Fox's strategy to maintain a "winning position" in primetime television programming.
"Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, Fox delivers a 2025-26 schedule that's filled with irreverence, fun, and much-needed laughter," Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade stated, as reported by Variety. "Next year more than ever, we're bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu, and beyond."

Fox is not just bringing back fan-favorite shows; they're also innovating in the realm of streaming services. The network has announced the launch of Fox One, a new platform that will integrate news, sports, and entertainment programming. Fox One will offer both live streaming and on-demand access to the full catalog of Fox brands, with the option to bundle with Fox Nation within one platform.
While American Dad does not yet have a specific premiere date for its Fox resurgence, fans can rest assured that they'll be tuning in (and singing that catchy theme song). It's likely that the series will be available on Fox One, but we'll have more details sometime next year.
