In a post on Twitter/X today, Bethesda’s official account revealed an upcoming announcement for tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET on both YouTube and Twitch. Though they didn’t state what the announcement entails, the large "IV" centered in the image and the background—strongly resembling a classic piece of Oblivion artwork—make the subject fairly obvious.

Rumors of an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, evolving into credible leaks in recent weeks. The project was first hinted at in a leaked 2020 Bethesda roadmap, exposed during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which mentioned an Oblivion remaster slated for fiscal year 2022. Back then, the document’s age and missed deadline led many to assume it was scrapped. But in January of this year, new leaks surfaced, suggesting the project was no longer a remaster but a full remake developed by Bethesda with support from Virtuos. Last week, those claims were nearly confirmed when additional leaks emerged from Virtuos’ own website, featuring early visuals of the remake in development.

If last week’s leaks are accurate, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, with a Deluxe Edition offering horse armor alongside the standard version.

Tune in tomorrow to hopefully get official confirmation and deeper insights.
