How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you can freely explore the open world in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, advance through the quest to find Mutt. One objective leads you to a clearing near Bozhena’s hut, where Henry suggests checking if Bozhena has any leads.

Visit Bozhena’s hut and inquire about Mutt. She’ll reveal her daughter Pavlena is missing. Offer to assist, and the Bad Blood quest will be added to your journal.

Gather Information

Head to Troskowitz to speak with Bailiff Thrush, then visit Innkeeper Betty at the tavern. They’ll provide insights into Bozhena and Pavlena’s history, explaining their exile and the village’s resentment toward them.

Next, proceed to the objective area to talk to the woodcutters. Find Woodcutter Dushko, who will direct you to Roman’s house. Be prepared to lockpick the door, so save your game beforehand.

Investigate Roman’s house, inspect Pavlena’s basket, and speak with Dushko again for more details. He’ll point you to a clearing near Roman’s house, a favorite spot of the couple.

Search the Scene

From Roman’s house, follow the objective marker downhill to the stream, then turn left at two large boulders. Discover a blood trail, follow it to Roman’s body, then speak with Hogherd Hugo. Return to Troskowitz’s farm to question Hired Hand Straw.

Pass a dialogue check with Straw to uncover details about Jakesh and the events surrounding Roman and Pavlena.

Optionally, consult Thrush about Straw’s fate. Then, head to the rocks south of Zhelejov to continue your investigation.

Confront Ota

In the objective area, circle the large boulder to find a path. Climb the ladder to locate Ota and Pavlena.

With sufficient Charisma, select these dialogue options to persuade Ota to release Pavlena:

“What’s your name?”

“Let her go and I’ll let you go.”

“I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”

After Ota releases Pavlena, she kills him. Speak with Pavlena and return to Bozhena, who will urge you to kill Jakesh.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

At the quest’s end, decide whether to kill Jakesh or broker peace between him and Bozhena. Find Jakesh at his child’s grave on the farm. You can kill him, negotiate peace, or alternatively kill Bozhena to conclude the quest.

In my playthrough, I killed Jakesh and reported to Bozhena for a reward, finalizing the quest.

Should You Kill Jakesh?

Killing Jakesh lowers your Troskowitz reputation but boosts your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. You’ll unlock a new dialogue with Pavlena and receive a necklace, a gift from Roman.

Sparing Jakesh and facilitating peace earns you 100 groschen from him. Report to Bozhena, and you can keep the money or share it, allowing Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement.
