Kingambit Debuts in Pokémon Go Crown Clash

by Patrick Jan 07,2026
  • The Crown Clash event runs from May 10th to May 18th.
  • Kingambit makes its debut, alongside special crown-wearing Nidoqueen and Nidoking.
  • A variety of valuable rewards are available throughout the event.

While you prepare for the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon Go is readying for the royal Crown Clash. From May 10th to 18th, you can evolve the powerful Kingambit, collect crown-themed Pokémon, hunt for Shinies, and earn bonus XP for every evolution.

Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, finally arrives in Pokémon Go during Crown Clash. To evolve one, you must set Bisharp as your Buddy Pokémon and defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. Bisharp doesn't need to participate in the battles itself; it just needs to be accompanying you when you secure the victories.

They are joined by new costumed versions of Nidoqueen and Nidoking, each adorned with a brilliant crown. Their Shiny variants may also appear. These royal Pokémon will feature in three-star raids, while one-star raids will host Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

The wild spawns are also getting an update. Look out for increased appearances of Slowpoke (a potential source of King's Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. With a bit of luck, you'll also encounter Pawniard more frequently in the wild.

With double XP for evolving Pokémon, it's the perfect opportunity to work through your evolution checklist. Complete event-themed Field Research and a special Collection Challenge for additional XP, Stardust, and another chance to catch Pawniard. Trainers at Level 31 and above will also receive guaranteed Candy XL for evolutions upon finishing the challenge.

Visit PokéStops to enter event-themed Showcases and display your best crown-clad catches. Finally, the Pokémon Go Web Store offers special bundles to help you get fully prepared for the festivities.
