Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Launches with Steam Workshop, Barber Shops Added

by Natalie May 28,2025

Warhorse Studios has officially announced the launch of a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II—version 1.2. This latest patch brings two exciting new features: native mod support via Steam Workshop and an entirely revamped barber shop system.

Steam Workshop integration streamlines the process of downloading and installing mods directly within the game, eliminating the need for external platforms. To access these mods, creators must upload their work to Steam Workshop. As of now, only a handful of mods are available, such as:

  • Free Saving: Allows players unlimited save slots by restoring the "Saviour Schnapps" item after each use or loss.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a historically-inspired horned helmet.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, enabling access to otherwise restricted areas.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.

While the current selection is modest, the modding community is anticipated to grow swiftly. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to share their work across both platforms. Although Steam Workshop may not match NexusMods in size, popular mods will undoubtedly surface soon.

Additionally, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to modify their hairstyle or beard design. Regardless of the chosen look, visiting a barber temporarily increases the protagonist's Charisma stat.

Beyond these additions, Update 1.2 encompasses numerous other improvements, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios highlights over a thousand fixes and optimizations across virtually every aspect of the game. These enhancements include balanced gameplay tweaks, refined animations, and improved NPC behavior. For example, the crime system has been meticulously adjusted for enhanced realism.

Other noteworthy updates include:

  • Revised daily routines for NPCs, resulting in more authentic behaviors.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and performance, especially noticeable in Kuttenberg—the game's largest city—and during large-scale battles.

The studio intends to provide further insights into these changes during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. Warhorse Studios remains dedicated to supporting the game, with three paid DLC expansions planned for release throughout the seasons.

With the introduction of Steam Workshop integration, fresh cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, delivering players an even more immersive medieval experience.
