Netflix Reveals First Look at Lady Gaga in Wednesday Ahead of Season 2 Part 2

by Gabriel Jun 25,2026

It nearly knocked Wednesday fans’ socks off to learn that none other than Lady Gaga would make a guest appearance in Season 2 of the beloved Netflix show. Now, we’re getting our first peek at her character ahead of the second part of Season 2 premiering tomorrow.

The series took to social media on September 1 to share an image of Gaga in costume, wearing a white dress and featuring Thing—or another disembodied hand resembling Thing—resting casually on her shoulder.

“A vision in venom. Here’s your first look at Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood,” the show’s official X / Twitter account posted, revealing both the character’s name and her striking appearance.

Still, details about Miss Rotwood remain scarce, beyond rumors that she’s a teacher at Nevermore Academy. Since she didn’t appear in Season 1 or the first half of Season 2, she could be new to the school—or perhaps returning after a long absence. Both possibilities fit the story’s tone, and either way, it’ll be fascinating to see how the show develops her backstory and weaves her into the narrative.

Beyond her acting role, Gaga is also recording an original song for the series called “The Dead Dance.” The track will appear somewhere in the second half of Season 2, and fans will even receive a music video for it, directed by Tim Burton himself.

It’s clear the team behind the show aims to capture the same magic as the Wednesday dance trend that exploded online during Season 1—and if you’re going to chase lightning twice, partnering with Lady Gaga is a brilliant way to amplify the chances of success.

Last week, IGN reported that Season 2 of Wednesday isn’t matching the viewership levels of Season 1. Some fans believe the viral TikTok dance trend was a key driver of the first season’s popularity, and without a similar phenomenon this time, the show lost that external boost.

Others argue that releasing what many consider a “Halloween show” during summer instead of fall was a misstep for audience turnout. A few also think splitting the eight-episode season into two parts hurt momentum—even though there’s barely a month between releases, with Part 1 dropping on August 6 and Part 2 arriving on September 3.

The first half of Wednesday Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix, alongside the full first season. The second half of Season 2 launches on September 3.
