Frustration Among Global Players

Global players of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE are expressing growing discontent with the differences found in the Chinese server. Since the CN server's launch on May 22, players have observed it receiving substantial improvements absent from the global release.

In a Reddit post from May 22, user Glittering_Novel_783 pointed out that the CN version includes numerous quality-of-life updates the global community has requested for over two years. These enhancements feature faster loading times, an auto-progress function for Tribe Towers, character buffs, improved shop options, and more.

A significant point of contention is the improved quality of Regular and Manufacturer Molds on the CN server. Molds are items used to obtain new characters. On the global server, high-quality Molds offer roughly a 60% chance for an SSR and 40% for an SR, while Manufacturer Molds have a 50% SSR, 30% SR, and 20% R chance.

However, the CN server features a superior Mold system with a pity mechanic. After accumulating 50 pity shards from pulls, players are guaranteed an SSR—a feature the global version lacks. Some reports also suggest Manufacturer Molds in CN exclude R-tier characters entirely, boosting the odds of obtaining SSRs or SRs.

Community Backlash Intensifies

The Reddit community has reacted with disappointment, feeling the global version is being sidelined. Many argue it makes little sense for SHIFT UP not to implement the same upgrades globally. Some users compared this to strategies in other games, where developers allegedly prioritize CN servers due to the region's massive market, creating unequal treatment between regions.

On NIKKE's official Discord, the feedback channels have been flooded with complaints. Multiple discussion threads expressing anger have garnered hundreds to thousands of upvotes and comments.

The top thread in the Discord feedback channel demands that global players receive the same benefits as the CN server. One user provided screenshots as proof of a new Private skin exclusively released in China, which many global players now want. Engagement on this thread continues to grow hourly, with the community remaining dissatisfied.

SHIFT UP's Official Response

In their May 2025 Developer's Note, SHIFT UP acknowledged the significant differences and explained that the CN version will operate on a separate build. The statement read, "The 2.5-year gap and separate builds mean there is potential for story spoilers, but it also allows us to integrate unique and complementary elements."

SHIFT UP confirmed they are aware of player frustration regarding the disparities. They stated that both versions "will develop in their own directions under different conditions" and that "their differences will enrich one another."

The developer promised ongoing support for both versions of the game: "We remain fully committed to the global version and will continue working to strengthen both versions together."

Player Reaction to the Developer's Note

Despite SHIFT UP's attempt to clarify the situation, the player base remains outraged. Subreddits like r/NikkeMobile and r/gachagaming mocked the response, viewing it as a tactic to placate players without making meaningful changes.

The community responded with memes and satirical jokes, particularly targeting the phrase about differences "enriching one another." One popular meme by user satufa2 depicted a person slowly turning into a clown. Players are also organizing review bombs of the game as a form of protest to force the developers to address their concerns.

Additionally, many are calling for a "spending freeze"—a common protest in gacha games where players halt all in-game purchases until the developers address the issues and provide equal updates for the global version. This tactic directly impacts company revenue and is used to gain leverage.

As of now, fans continue to demand changes, flooding Subreddits and Discord with complaints. It remains uncertain whether SHIFT UP will issue another statement or proceed with its plan of offering region-specific updates and content.
