Oblivion Remaster Image Leak Reveals New Look

by Audrey Mar 15,2026

New leaks from a developer's website have revealed more specifics about the long-rumored re-release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, showcasing screenshots and additional images of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

Shared across forums such as ResetEra and Reddit, these images are said to have been discovered on the official site of developer Virtuos. The screenshots show a remastered edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, highlighting notable upgrades to models, texture detail, and overall visual fidelity.

At the time of writing, the Virtuos website is almost entirely inaccessible, with most pages beyond the main landing page appearing to be offline.

Although the leaked information has been quickly removed, numerous screenshots and details have already been widely circulated online. According to VGC, the long-awaited title will be named The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and is being developed through a collaboration between Virtuos and Bethesda's Dallas and Rockville studios.

Virtuos has extensive experience in creating remasters, having previously developed or assisted with updated editions of major titles, including The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition.

Additional information from the site suggests the Oblivion remaster is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S (with Game Pass), and PlayStation 5. A Deluxe Edition is also planned, reportedly featuring bonus weapons and horse armor—a knowing reference to the controversial DLC released in 2006.

Speculation and reports surrounding a remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have circulated for some time, with early hints appearing in documents leaked during the Microsoft-FTC trial in 2023. Multiple sources have since indicated its development, with recent rumors even suggesting a surprise release as early as this month.

While no official announcement has been made at this time, the extensive details now available suggest The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is indeed coming—and soon.
