Pokémon Company Launches New Battle Simulator: Pokémon Champions

Pokémon Day took place on February 27th, and The Pokémon Company marked the occasion with a flurry of announcements during a dedicated Pokémon Presents stream. Highlights included a sneak peek at the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game, teasers for fresh episodes of Pokémon Concierge, and the reveal of their new battle simulator, Pokémon Champions.

We’re particularly thrilled about Pokémon Champions, the upcoming battle simulator. Crafted by The Pokémon Works in partnership with Game Freak, this title focuses exclusively on competitive battling, leaving out catching Pokémon, exploring tall grass, or earning Gym Badges.

What More Do We Know About Pokémon Champions, the New Battle Simulator?

Pokémon Champions offers a multiplayer experience with cross-platform support, launching on both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. It will feature various modes, though specifics remain undisclosed for now.

A key highlight of Pokémon Champions is its integration with Pokémon Home, allowing players to import select Pokémon from past games. However, not all Pokémon will be available at launch, with only a curated roster usable initially.

With Pokémon Champions, The Pokémon Company is creating a dedicated space for competitive battles, stripping away the exploration elements of the main series for intense, high-stakes matchups. While awaiting further details, check out the announcement trailer below.
