South Park Season 27 Release Date Revealed in Topical Trailer

by Joseph May 24,2025

The boys are back in town — and by the boys, we're talking about Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman. South Park is gearing up for the much-anticipated Season 27, and it seems our favorite Colorado crew is tackling the state of things in their signature, barely coping style.

The beloved animated series dropped a new trailer for the upcoming season, but with a twist: it initially fooled viewers into thinking they were getting a sneak peek at a new drama. The trailer's intense editing and ominous music set the stage... until Randy, Stan's dad, and his sister Shelley appear. In a classic South Park moment, Randy asks Shelley if she's been taking drugs, suggesting, "Because I think it could really help you," as they sit on her bed with a Wicked movie poster in the background.

Mark your calendars: South Park Season 27 premieres on Wednesday, July 9th. After the initial gag, the trailer shifts back to showcasing intense action, hinting at several big and timely moments. Expect plane crashes, the dramatic toppling of the Statue of Liberty, a cameo by P. Diddy, and, of course, what seems to be another war with Canada. Longtime fans or those who've seen the 1999 film South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut won't be surprised by that last plot point.

The teaser confirms that the new season will hit Comedy Central on July 9, 2025, marking over two years since the conclusion of Season 26. In the interim, fans were treated to three specials: 2023's South Park: Joining the Panderverse and South Park (Not Suitable For Children), followed by 2024's South Park: The End of Obesity.

South Park celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, having first aired on Comedy Central in 1997 to near-instant acclaim.
