DC Studios has unveiled an exciting new trailer for the upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn, set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. This three-minute trailer gives fans a deeper glimpse into the expansive universe filled with superheroes and supervillains.
The trailer showcases Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, who effortlessly dispatches enemies with a flick of his hand. Isabela Merced appears as Hawkgirl, and we get our best look yet at María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. The trailer reveals that it's The Engineer who is responsible for the destruction of the robots at Superman's Fortress of Solitude, including the beloved Kelex, whom we saw Superman cradling in a previous trailer.
Adding to the excitement, Krypto the Superdog makes an appearance, fearlessly taking on The Engineer with a flying punch. This demonstrates that Krypto is ready to join the fray when it comes to battling the bad guys.
The trailer also features Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and introduces Ultraman to the action. We see more of Edi Gathegi's Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan's Rex Mason / Metamorpho. The newly introduced Hammer of Boravia, hinted at in a teaser trailer the day before, makes a significant appearance. This character, created by Gunn for the film, is rumored to be Ultraman in disguise.

The relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane is highlighted, with Lois conducting an interview with Clark in his Superman persona. The discussion escalates into a heated argument about the ethics of Superman's controversial intervention in a war on foreign soil. Superman defends his actions, stating, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" In response to Superman's actions, The Hammer of Boravia launches an attack on Downtown Metropolis.
A poignant scene from the trailer shows a member of the public helping Superman out of a hole in the ground during the battle with The Hammer of Boravia. This act of kindness stands in stark contrast to other scenes where the public is seen screaming at Superman and even hurling objects at him, highlighting the complex relationship between the hero and the citizens he protects.
