Craft Warriors was a sandbox strategy game that built a loyal following, allowing players to create towns and characters. Launched in 2018 and sadly closed in July 2024, it has now made a return—or, more accurately, a new beginning. Translimit has released Craft Warriors Frontier for Android, which serves as a sequel to the original title.
A sequel rather than a revival
This iteration shifts the focus to real-time cooperative strategy. While the original was known for its sandbox gameplay, Craft Warriors Frontier overhauls its core systems, making success much more dependent on teamwork and coordination with other players. Collaboration is now central to the experience.
The game is set around restoring the ancient city of Skyland, where your main task is to rebuild and upgrade facilities to develop the town. Combat and progression are tied to party composition, and you can choose from a variety of weapons to upgrade and equip.
You’ll engage in battles against demonic warriors. Initial encounters involve learning attack patterns, managing enemy damage, and securing your first victory, which rewards you with a starter chest. You can explore key areas such as your island, the guild hub, and a mysterious locked dungeon.
Later, you’ll fight across different islands and environments that require precise jumping to access new combat zones. The hubs are filled with interactive details, including dorm rooms and tables where your characters can even take a seat.
Craft Warriors Frontier is more action-oriented than the previous title
Despite these exciting changes, there’s a certain nostalgia for elements left behind from the original game. This release reimagines the core concepts of its predecessor in a new light. You can download it for free from the Google Play Store and try it out.
Both the previous and current versions were developed by Translimit. The studio’s mobile portfolio also includes games like Puzzrama and Brain Dots. While Translimit never explicitly disclosed why the original game was shut down so suddenly, the community’s persistent requests for its return have now been answered—in one form or another.
