Here's the official synopsis from IDW for issue #5:
The second installment in the legendary Last Ronin saga reaches its explosive and gripping conclusion! New York City is engulfed in chaos as a full-scale war erupts, endangering everyone. Casey, April, Odyn, Yi, Moja, and Uno find themselves in the line of fire. Will they all survive? The fate of these beloved characters rests in the hands of acclaimed writers Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz as they bring this chapter of The Last Ronin to a close!
In a 2024 interview with IGN, co-creator Kevin Eastman shared insights into the development of the new Turtles:
"One of our goals was to refresh the characters. We introduced two male and two female Turtle characters, and Tom and I aimed to capture the essence of modern teenagers—their thoughts, words, and actions. We've crafted a diverse group of personalities, similar to the original Turtles. They may bicker and disagree, but their love for family is the glue that holds them together. When it's time to unite as a team, it's the heart and soul of their family that prevails. That's the cornerstone of every Turtles story we tell."
