How Many Tomb Raider Games Are There?

As of 2025, the Tomb Raider franchise boasts a total of 20 games. These titles span across three distinct timelines, each presenting unique narratives and perspectives on Lara Croft and her adventures. Out of these, 14 games are available on home consoles, with 6 also playable on handheld devices, and another 6 accessible on mobile platforms. Stand-alone titles such as Tomb Raider: The Prophecy, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Lara Croft Go, Lara Croft: Relic Run, and Tomb Raider Reloaded are not included in our lists.

Which Tomb Raider Should You Play First?

What’s Next for Tomb Raider?

For fans eager to relive the early adventures of Lara Croft, Aspyr has released remastered collections for current-gen consoles. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered launched in early 2024, followed by Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered in February.

Crystal Dynamics is hard at work on a new Tomb Raider game, utilizing the powerful Unreal Engine 5 and set to be published by Amazon Games. While details are sparse, the developers have hinted on Twitter that this new title will continue Lara Croft's saga, potentially extending the storyline from the Survivor trilogy that ended with Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018.

Beyond gaming, Netflix has introduced the animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which premiered in October and has already been greenlit for a second season. Meanwhile, a planned Amazon series with Phoebe Waller-Bridge as writer and executive producer appears to have been shelved.
