Remarkably, all 24 fighters in the current roster made an appearance, though out of nearly two hundred players—specifically, the eight finalists from each of the 24 regions—only one player opted for Ryu. Even the latest addition to the game, Terry Bogard, found favor with two competitors.
Leading the pack in terms of popularity among professionals are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each chosen by 17 players. A significant gap follows, with the next tier consisting of Akuma, picked by 12 players, followed by Ed and Luke, both with 11, and JP and Chun-Li, each with 10. Among the less favored characters, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out, as they were the main picks for seven players each.
