No surprises here. Beryl, Gloria, Inanna, and Col are prime reroll targets for a robust start. Beryl and Col dominate as the strongest DPS characters, with Beryl slightly outperforming due to her Destroyer-type advantage against all types except Watchers. Col's rogue abilities allow her to eliminate enemies stealthily, rewarding players with additional actions upon successful side or rear attacks. Enhancing her with attack and crit rate boosting gear is crucial.
Gloria and Inanna stand out as top support characters. Gloria's versatility shines, doubling as a DPS with her Flag buffs, knockback abilities, and high damage output. Inanna, the go-to dedicated healer, offers longevity with her summonable Guard of the Princess, acting as a controllable tank and aiding in battle objectives.
Edda, the first addition to the global version, proves a formidable support, enhancing magical teams through debuffs and easing Legendary weapon farming in Weaponry Trial I. Cocoa, introduced in September 2024, emerges as a superior tank with added utility from heals, buffs, and debuffs, reaching her full potential at five stars.
Saffiyah and Auguste, celebrated in CN and TW tier lists, are pivotal in Sword of Convallaria. Saffiyah's versatility as a Seeker, with minion summoning, team healing, and damage dealing, makes her a must-have. Auguste excels in auto-play and as a top Breaker DPS, fitting seamlessly into various team compositions.

Dantalion and Magnus together form a synergistic powerhouse, significantly enhancing attack capabilities for PvE stages. Magnus serves as a strong tank replacement for Maitha, unless you've secured Cocoa. Dantalion's strength grows as battles progress, his kit boosting both defense and offense, making him a resilient force on the battlefield.
Nonowill supports with buffs and debuffs while maintaining high mobility. Simona, added in late August 2024, is a battlemage capable of freezing and slowing enemies, and delivering potent close-range damage, ideal for magic-based teams alongside Edda.
Rawiyah (Alt) and Saffiyah (Alt) offer strong utility. Rawiyah (Alt) enhances damage and self-healing, while Saffiyah (Alt), though not as powerful as her base version, effectively debuffs enemies and buffs allies.
B-Tier
Maitha's versatility as a tank with damage and healing capabilities makes her a solid starter, though she's likely to be replaced by stronger tanks like Magnus or Cocoa. Rawiyah's early-game DPS with AoE and self-healing is invaluable for initial progress.
C-Tier
Even C-tier characters have their merits, though they may lack the efficiency and versatility of higher tiers. Teadon, with his high defense, serves as a decent early-game tank, but like others in this tier, he's likely to be replaced as better units are acquired.
Best Epic Characters to Invest In
Not everyone will secure S-tier units immediately, but Epic characters can fill the gap effectively, some even carrying you to the endgame. Here are our top Epic character recommendations:
Role | Character |
---|---|
Rogue | Crimson Falcon |
DPS | Tempest, Stormbreaker |
Mage | Darklight Ice Priest, Abyss, Butterfly |
Tank | Suppression |
Healer | Angel |
Crimson Falcon excels as a rogue, offering high damage and mobility, often becoming the first character you'll max out due to plentiful Memory Shards. Tempest and Stormbreaker are solid frontline DPS choices, especially without Gloria. Darklight Ice Priest (a Rare) and Abyss are excellent mage picks, with the former slowing enemies with ice damage and the latter providing utility akin to Fire Emblem's Dancer class.
For tanking and healing, Suppression and Angel are top picks. While Suppression may be unnecessary if you're using Maitha, Angel's robust healing is crucial without Inanna, keeping your team alive as you save for more pulls.
