Yangon Galacticos Triumph in PUBG Mobile 2025 Regional Clash

  • The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 wrapped up over the weekend.
  • Yangon Galacticos emerged as the champions of the event.
  • They secured victory by building an insurmountable points lead.

The recent PUBG Mobile esports competition, the PMRC Rondo Cup, concluded over the weekend with Yangon Galacticos claiming the championship title. The team is set to receive the largest portion of the $20,000 prize pool provided by PUBG.

As expected, the tournament was played on PUBG's newest and biggest map, Rondo. This map hosted 16 teams that earned their qualification through various events, such as D'Xavier from PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers from PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE from PMSL CSA Fall.

Yangon Galacticos' win occurred under the newly introduced SMASH format rules. This system requires a team to accumulate over 30 points and then secure a match victory to claim the cup. However, after six matches, no team met both conditions, so the title was awarded to Galacticos due to their dominant points total.

With HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports finishing in second and third place respectively, the Rondo Cup has proven to be a significant success for PUBG Mobile, reinforcing their growing esports initiatives since 2024.

That said, it’s somewhat ironic that the first tournament featuring the SMASH rules did not produce a winner through that specific method. Whether the format returns will likely depend on organizers assessing if it promotes more skilled and engaging gameplay in future events.
