Schell Games and Innersloth, the masterminds behind Among Us 3D, have just dropped the news we've all been waiting for: the game will officially launch on May 6, 2025. This announcement was shared via Among Us 3D’s official Twitter (X) on April 16, setting the stage for what promises to be an epic release.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D, expanding its reach with cross-play multiplayer capabilities. Just this week, the developers introduced Stardust, a new currency that doesn't expire, giving players more freedom in their in-game purchases.
Among Us 3D is packed with thrilling new features, including a permanent Tag Mode with an Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, a mix of new and returning mini-games, and an array of new cosmetics to personalize your gaming experience.
It's important to clarify that Among Us 3D is distinct from the 2022 release of Among Us VR. Cross-play between these two games won't be possible. As stated on Schell Games’ website FAQs, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
