The series' creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are at the helm of this project, promising to bring fans a fresh yet deeply rooted addition to the Avatarverse.
Set to be a 26-episode, 2D animated series, Avatar: Seven Havens will follow the journey of a young Earthbender, revealed to be the next Avatar after Korra. The storyline unfolds in a world ravaged by a devastating cataclysm, where the new Avatar's emergence brands her not as a savior, but as a potential destroyer of humanity. Pursued by both human and spirit adversaries, she, along with her long-lost twin, embarks on a quest to unravel their enigmatic pasts and protect the Seven Havens, the last bastions of civilization.
In their statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their enthusiasm, stating, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."
Avatar: Seven Havens will be released in two parts: a 13-episode Book 1 and a 13-episode Book 2. The series is being co-created by DiMartino and Konietzko, alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast remains under wraps, anticipation is high for this new addition to the Avatar saga.
This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, which is also working on a full-length animated movie set to premiere on January 30, 2026. This movie will delve into a new adventure featuring an adult Aang, further expanding the Avatar universe.
