Unlocking the Best Pokémon TCG Pocket Booster Packs: A Strategic Guide
At launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket offers three booster packs from the Genetic Apex set: Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu. This guide prioritizes which packs to open first for optimal deck building.
Which Booster Packs Should You Prioritize?
The Charizard pack is undoubtedly the best starting point. It offers not only the powerful Charizard Ex and key cards for a high-damage Fire-type deck, but also Sabrina, arguably the game's best Supporter card. Additional strong cards like Starmie Ex, Kangaskhan, and Greninja are also included, along with Erika and Blaine, crucial for Grass and Fire decks respectively.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Booster Pack Priority List:
Here's the recommended opening order:
- Charizard: Focus on acquiring versatile, essential cards that can be used across multiple deck types.
- Mewtwo: Excellent for building a strong Psychic deck centered around Mewtwo Ex and the Gardevoir line.
- Pikachu: While currently a top meta deck, the Pikachu Ex cards are more niche and their meta dominance may be short-lived with the introduction of Promo Mankey.
While ultimately you'll need to open all three packs to complete secret missions, prioritizing the Charizard pack provides a strong foundation and key cards usable in various decks. Use Pack Points to acquire any missing cards afterwards. This strategic approach maximizes your early-game advantage.
