Star Wars enthusiasts eager to dive into the first episodes of the new animated series, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, will need to head over to Fortnite for an exclusive premiere before it hits Disney+. Epic Games has just announced that the initial two episodes of this eagerly awaited spinoff will debut exclusively within Fortnite, marking a significant expansion of their Star Wars content as part of the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which is set to bring a host of Star Wars-themed experiences to players.
You can catch the premiere of Tales of the Underworld featuring the iconic character Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island in Fortnite starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2 – a full two days before its Disney+ debut. To enhance your experience, Epic Games encourages fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While further benefits remain under wraps, Epic hints at more exciting rewards on the horizon.
“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” stated Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”
The window to watch the first two episodes of Tales of the Underworld on the Star Wars Watch Party island will close on May 11. Alongside the screenings, the island will host a Battle Arena where players can engage in thrilling combat with lightsabers against waves of enemies. Viewers who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Disney's relationship with Fortnite extends well beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaborations that will enhance Fortnite with an influx of Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits. Notable additions in the next season will include characters like Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.
Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has maintained its dominance in the gaming world. Recent collaborations, such as the crossover with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and engaging, encouraging players to trade in their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
