The developers outline Nightmare Frontier’s premise: "Set in an alternate 19th-century America, the game follows a cataclysmic event that shattered reality, blurring the line between the known world and a terrifying unknown. Players take on the role of a daring ringleader, guiding a band of scavengers through a perilous city to uncover the truth behind the Nightmare, scavenging for vital loot while facing overwhelming horrors."
