During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo revealed that nearly the entire Nintendo Switch library will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. Moreover, a select group of games will receive enhanced "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" versions with unique features. This list includes fan favorites like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Mario Party: Jamboree.

Each Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game offers distinct enhancements tailored to the game. The showcase began with Super Mario Party: Jamboree, which is set to introduce "Jamboree TV". This upgrade will incorporate mouse controls, audio recognition, enhanced haptic feedback described as "more expressive rumble", and innovative gameplay utilizing a new camera accessory.

Additionally, these titles will benefit from a new feature in the Nintendo Switch Online app called Zelda Notes. This service will offer voice guidance to assist players in locating Shrines and Koroks, and enable sharing of creations in *Tears of the Kingdom* via QR codes with friends.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is slated to receive a new story exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, titled Star-Crossed World, along with enhanced graphics and framerates.

Two eagerly awaited titles, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A, will also see upgraded versions. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will feature mouse control support, 4K resolution at 60fps, and HDR, while Pokemon Legends: Z-A will enjoy improved resolution and framerates.

All these upgraded games will be available in both physical and digital formats. For those who already own the original versions on the Nintendo Switch, upgrade packs will be available for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Party, and Kirby.
