If you're in the market for a PlayStation Portal, now's your chance to snag a great deal. While the device has never been discounted when new, you can save on a used one. Amazon Resale, formerly known as Amazon Warehouse, currently has Used: Like New condition PS Portals in stock for just $148 shipped. This represents a 26% saving off the original retail price of $199. Note that a Sony warranty may or may not be included, but Amazon Resale items come with the same 30-day return policy as new items. Given the popularity, we expect these units to sell out quickly.
Update: The price has now dropped to $150.23, which is the lowest we've seen for a Used: Like New unit.

The PS Portal, Sony's innovative handheld gaming accessory for the PS5 console, resembles an extended split-pad DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen in the center. It transforms your PS5 into a portable gaming device, allowing you to stream games from your console at up to 60fps. The controller replicates the DualSense's features such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a touchscreen interface that substitutes the DualSense's touchpad. The Portal supports streaming games even when you're away from home, provided you have access to a stable and fast internet connection. However, remember that the PS Portal is not a standalone device; it requires a PS5 to function.
Exciting news for PS Portal owners: Sony has introduced a feature that allows streaming games directly from their PlayStation Now cloud service, eliminating the need for a PS5. With this update, you can connect the Portal to either your PS5 or Sony's cloud servers, thanks to recent quality of life beta updates launched in April. This gives you access to over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Keep in mind, you need to subscribe to the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, but at $18 a month, it's a more cost-effective option than buying a PS5 and individual games.
While the PlayStation Portal is not the only way to stream PS5 games over Wi-Fi within your home, it's the most straightforward. You can achieve similar functionality by downloading the PS Remote Play app on a mobile device or other gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. However, this method is more complex to set up and lacks some of the DualSense's features.
PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy
"The PlayStation Portal is the most surprising device I've encountered. Initially skeptical, I ended up loving it. It's a far better experience than using your phone with a controller, and it works better than I anticipated. I appreciate the freedom it offers to play my PS5 from anywhere with decent WiFi, especially when my family is using the TV to play the Switch. However, it's important to remember that it's not a standalone device; it requires a PlayStation 5 to function. The Portal's biggest drawbacks are its current inability to access WiFi that requires a web browser to log in, and its lack of Bluetooth support for audio. Despite these limitations, it's a great device that offers the best current solution for PlayStation Remote Play. If not for these two issues, I'd recommend it as a must-own for every PS5 owner who enjoys handheld gaming or needs to share the household TV."
