The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global, bringing with them exciting new Adventure Effects that enhance your gameplay outside of battle. Make sure to leverage the Tour Pass to maximize your earnings throughout the event.
Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock ability generates electrically charged ice that lasts for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, simplifying the task of landing Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a maximum total duration of 24 hours.
During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to collect Fusion Energy. Once you fuse Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn will replace Glaciate. These moves will revert to Glaciate when the Pokémon are separated. It's worth noting that Kyurem cannot currently learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
You'll also have the choice between two event badges – Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). Choosing the Black Version means Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version grants Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
To enhance your progress, utilize the Tour Pass, which unlocks various rewards and boosts your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or expedite your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Achieving Major Milestones will increase your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
For those looking for the ultimate experience, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version offers an immediate encounter with Victini, additional event-themed encounters, an avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with someone from your Friend List, enhancing your next trade.
The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event is scheduled to run from February 24th to March 2nd.
