HP has now officially started accepting preorders for its highly anticipated 2025 Omen Max 16 gaming laptop. The company estimates orders will begin shipping on March 13. Expected to serve as HP's new flagship gaming device, the Omen Max 16 will be offered alongside the standard Omen and the sleek Omen Transcend models.

The launch edition of the HP Omen Max 16 will run on Intel architecture. The base configuration comes with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, a chip optimized for high performance rather than the efficiency-focused Core Ultra 9 185H. Additional specifications include a 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz display, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz memory, and a 1TB M.2 SSD, all for $2,699.99. This price is roughly $500 cheaper than the upcoming Razer Blade 16 with comparable hardware.
When Will This Laptop Start Shipping?
HP estimates the Omen Max 16 will ship in early to mid-March, which is just a few weeks from now. Since the RTX 50-series mobile GPUs have not been officially released, performance benchmarks are not yet available.
Alternative Option: Preorder the New Razer Blade Laptops
Razer's new 2025 gaming laptop lineup is now available for preorder. The Razer Blade 16 and Razer Blade 18 can be reserved directly through Razer.com. Both models will come with next-generation Intel or Ryzen processors (depending on the screen size) as well as the much-anticipated RTX 5000-series mobile GPUs, offered in three versions: RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090. Customers who preorder may also receive bonus accessories, varying based on the model.
Razer Blade laptops are renowned for their outstanding build quality. The chassis is precision-milled from a single aluminum block, resulting in a design that is remarkably thin and light for a gaming machine. To maintain this sleek profile, Razer uses a proprietary cooling system that includes a vacuum-sealed, liquid-filled copper vapor chamber to efficiently dissipate heat. Similar to Apple’s MacBook Pro, a great deal of engineering goes into each Razer Blade, justifying their premium price compared to mainstream competitors.
