Universal Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth, offering a thrilling glimpse into the upcoming action-adventure film slated for a July release.
The trailer introduces a team led by Scarlett Johansson, venturing to a remote island. This island, previously a research facility for the original Jurassic Park, houses dinosaurs deemed too dangerous for the main park. Their mission: to collect DNA from the three largest dinosaurs on Earth, crucial for developing a life-saving drug. However, as expected, their mission takes an unexpected and perilous turn.
The official synopsis reveals:
Featuring action icon Scarlett Johansson, rising star Jonathan Bailey, and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, this action-packed installment follows a daring team racing against time to acquire genetic samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air. Also starring Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, the film is directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and scripted by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.
Five years after Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecosystem struggles to support the surviving dinosaurs, who are now confined to isolated equatorial regions. These three colossal creatures hold the key to a revolutionary life-saving drug.
Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operative leading a top-secret mission. Their operation intersects with a family whose boat is capsized by marine dinosaurs, leading to a stranded group facing a decades-old, shocking secret.
Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora's trusted leader; Jonathan Bailey portrays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Rupert Friend is Martin Krebs, a Big Pharma representative; and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family.
The cast also includes Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Audrina Miranda as Reuben's family, along with Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein as members of Zora and Krebs' teams.

Recent confirmation from the film's writer reveals the inclusion of a sequence from the original Jurassic Park novel, omitted from the 1993 film. This sequence, as confirmed by Vanity Fair, depicts an attempt by Dr. Grant and two children (not featured in this film) to navigate a lagoon in a raft without disturbing a sleeping Tyrannosaurus Rex—an attempt that spectacularly fails.
