Even before its global launch, Sonic Rumble has kicked things off with a bang by introducing Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This exciting crossover, featuring some of the most beloved SEGA characters, is currently live and will run until May 7th, just a day before the game's worldwide release on May 8th.
Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It had its first pre-launch phase in Summer 2024, debuting in regions such as the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase saw the game expand to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and other regions.
What’s in Store?
If you’re in one of the soft-launch regions, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. Fans of Altered Beast can rejoice as the Werewolf transformation is available for free. For those who miss the nostalgic beast modes, you can get the Werebear and Weredragon, though availability varies. The Weredragon is exclusive to the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.
Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will be delighted to see Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the fray. Opa-Opa is also part of the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be acquired through fragments bought with standard rings, with each fragment costing 700.
Super Monkey Ball fans, AiAi and MeeMee have rolled into the event. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. Below, you can catch a glimpse of the crossover event in action.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, you can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos in matches. Although it may seem unusual for the event to go live before the global release, SEGA has assured players that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again post-launch.
This first crossover event showcases a delightful blend of SEGA’s rich history and current offerings, featuring monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and were-creatures mingling with Sonic and his friends. It's a promising sign of the fun and excitement Sonic Rumble has in store.
You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store now or wait for its global release on May 8th in your region.
