Following the successful Q1 updates, which addressed significant issues and introduced numerous hotfixes, the roadmap for Q2 2025 promises a range of exciting updates. Here's what fans can look forward to:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
- 2 New Weapons
- Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld has outlined the significant updates they plan to implement, with a focus on the Beta Mod SDK Kit and enhancements to the A-Life system. A closed beta with mod makers will be conducted to test the ModKit before its official release, with plans to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop for easier modding.
The A-Life system, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will receive persistent improvements. Following a massive 110 GB update during the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to enhance "smarter human combat," including better use of cover, flanking tactics, and limited grenade usage.
Mutant behavior will also be updated, with new features such as eating corpses and reacting to threats. Additional updates include the introduction of mutant loot, the option to skip shader compilation, an increased player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, the addition of two new weapons, and continued efforts towards stabilization and optimization.
As an exciting side project, a next-gen update for the original STALKER trilogy is in the works, with more details to be shared as the release approaches.
