Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news on the horizon. The company has successfully addressed a persistent issue that has been plaguing gamers for months.
Ubisoft has finally resolved the compatibility issues between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. Since at least the fall of 2024, players of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and other Ubisoft games have experienced significant performance problems on the new operating system. The solution has arrived in the form of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing relief and gratitude in the comments under the patch notes. Interestingly, the criticism typically directed at Ubisoft has been absent this time, as the issue stemmed from Windows rather than the game developer itself. Despite this, the recent reviews for both games still hover at "Mixed."
Looking ahead, there is optimism that Assassin’s Creed Shadows, whose release has been postponed to March 20, will not encounter similar compatibility issues. Ubisoft's decision to delay the game underscores their commitment to enhancing its quality. With the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows likely to play a crucial role in determining the company's future, this move is seen as a strategic step towards ensuring a successful release.
