Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show Adaptation

Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the live-action Driver series, previously slated for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, is no longer in production. The project, announced in 2021 as part of Ubisoft's initiative to expand its game franchises into new media, was intended to bring "our games to life in new and exciting ways," according to Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik.

The collaboration ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary of Ubisoft, in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson stated to Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."

However, Ubisoft has emphasized its continued commitment to the Driver franchise, confirming it is "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise." While specific details remain undisclosed, Ubisoft promises future announcements regarding these new developments. Stay tuned for more news on the Driver franchise!
