Vin Diesel has officially announced the release timeframe for Fast X: Part 2, along with the anticipated return of Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner.

The action star made the revelation during FuelFest in Los Angeles, confirming an April 2027 premiere for Fast X: Part 2. Diesel shared that the finale will bring the franchise back to its Los Angeles roots, return to authentic street racing culture, and feature an emotional reunion between Dom (Diesel's character) and Brian O'Conner (Walker's character).

Diesel's announcement aligns with his 2023 hints about giving Walker's character a proper farewell. Walker, who tragically passed away in 2013 at age 40, became iconic for his portrayal of Brian O'Conner, appearing in all franchise installments from 2001's The Fast and the Furious through Fast X (2023) using archival footage.

Fans are now speculating how Dom and Brian's reunion will be handled, considering Walker's untimely passing during Furious 7 production. Many believe the franchise already gave the beloved actor a fitting tribute.

Diesel's emphasis on returning to street racing roots responds to fan feedback about the series' escalating bombast. While early films focused on underground racing culture, recent installments have embraced full-blown action spectacle more reminiscent of Mission: Impossible than car culture.

The potential involvement of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson remains another open question. After playfully referencing their well-publicized feud during the 2025 Golden Globes, Diesel later posted a conciliatory Instagram message with the caption "All love... Always." Their professional relationship became strained during their time co-starring in Fast 5 through Furious 7.

Johnson previously confirmed on social media they've moved past their differences, stating they're now focused on "brotherhood" and serving the franchise's loyal fanbase. The reconciliation follows years of public tension, including Johnson's past criticisms of Diesel's leadership style, which Diesel previously characterized as "tough love" meant to elevate performances.
