Description

Unlock the full potential of your device with the High-Quality USB Camera Viewer & HDMI Display, transforming it into a versatile portable screen for a wide range of devices. To connect your Camera, Gaming Console, Laptop, PC, or other devices with HDMI output to your device, you'll need an HDMI to USB C dongle, also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card. Note that this is not to be confused with a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable.

Additionally, Noir supports cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes that offer USB streaming capabilities. With support for UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, Noir provides flexibility with graphics options, including OpenGL ES and Vulkan.

While the free version of Noir offers essential functions and an immersive experience (with ads outside of the preview area), upgrading to the pro version unlocks a plethora of advanced features and helps sustain the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

FAQ

  1. Why doesn't Noir recognize my device? Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the device not being a Video Capture Card. In some cases, additional power via a USB hub may be necessary.

  2. Why is the preview so laggy? Lag is often related to the USB version. Ensure USB 3.0 compatibility for both your capture card and data cable if using USB 3.0. For USB 2.0, stick to MJPEG video format and do not exceed 1080p30fps, though some cards support up to 1080p50fps.

  3. Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect? System issues are usually the culprit. Restarting your device can often resolve this issue.

  4. Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected? This is common with PS5 and PS4 due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP on your PS console through Settings -> System -> HDMI. Note that PS3 does not support HDCP disablement. Other devices might also enable HDCP for video content. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP, but exploring this option is left to the user.

  5. Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported? Current market capture cards primarily support these ratios. Use Noir's Stretch feature to adjust the ratio, ensuring your capture card's EDID supports it and setting your output device to the desired ratio.
