Hyper Light Breaker Character Guide: Unlockable Breakers and Playstyles
Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of characters, each with unique playstyles. This guide details how to unlock new Breakers and provides an overview of their abilities. Note that this guide reflects the early access version; additional characters and mechanics may be added later.
How to Unlock New Characters
To unlock new characters, you'll need Abyss Stones, obtained by defeating Crowns (bosses). First, locate Prisms (indicated by golden diamond icons on the map) to access boss arenas. After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter and select the Breaker you wish to unlock using your accumulated Abyss Stones. Currently, only two characters are unlockable via this method; the process for unlocking future characters may differ.
All Characters and Their SyComs
Each Breaker starts with a SyCom, determining base stats and core perks, significantly impacting their playstyle.
Vermillion
Vermillion's default SyCom, Gunslinger, favors ranged combat with a crit-boosting mechanic. His unlockable Tank SyCom enhances melee combat through perfect parry rewards and improved defensive stats.
Lapis
Lapis begins with Lightweaver, a Rail-focused SyCom that boosts Rail shot damage after collecting Batteries. Her unlockable Warrior SyCom increases core stats with each upgrade, making her potentially the strongest Breaker in the late game.
Goro
Goro is a ranged character. His Astrologer SyCom accelerates Blade skill charging during ranged attacks, while his unlockable Sniper SyCom significantly increases critical hit rate. He's a high-risk, high-reward Breaker due to his fragility.
