Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most daunting feature, often leaving players struggling to keep up. To counter this, stunning the monster is crucial. Utilize the Flashfly found nearby to temporarily immobilize it. Alternatively, craft Flash Pods to shoot at the monster, providing you with a window to attack or reposition safely.
Bring Teammates
Tackling Ebony Odogaron solo can be overwhelming due to its relentless attacks. To mitigate this, consider calling for backup by sending out SOS signals. Other players may join your fight, or if no one responds, NPCs can serve as effective distractions, allowing you to dodge and strike when the monster's attention shifts away from you.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the battle, you'll encounter areas with Entangled Rocks overhead. Use your slinger to bring these down, stunning Ebony Odogaron for a few precious seconds. This tactic can only be used once per fight, but you can also deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize the creature twice more.
Beware of Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to deal elemental or status effect damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to cure the blight or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to prevent it altogether.
Inflict Paralysis
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, immobilizing it and making the fight more manageable. If you can knock the monster down while it's over roots, it may become further entangled, giving you additional time to attack.
Aim for the Head
The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, with a 3-star weakness. Targeting it maximizes your damage output, though it also puts you at greater risk. If you prefer a safer approach, aim for the forelegs and tail, which, while less damaging, can still lead to breaking its limbs.
