A Quarter-Century of Sims Fun!
The Sims is turning 25, and players are in for a treat! Expect a plethora of in-game gifts, a 25-hour livestream featuring prominent Simmers (Sims players), and the triumphant return of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 to PC.
"Our players have shown us that no one embodies life quite like The Sims," stated Kevin Gibson, The Sims Production Director, in an interview with Xbox Wire. "Twenty-five years ago, a game with a groundbreaking concept made a splash at E3, and look how far we've come! We've touched the lives of millions across generations." He emphasized the crucial role of player support in the franchise's enduring success.
"Every Simmer, throughout the years and across all platforms, is part of this 25-year journey. This celebration is our way of saying thank you."
The Sims 1 and 2 Make a Comeback!
The biggest news? Relive the magic of the original The Sims and The Sims 2! Both games, complete with their DLCs, are now available on Steam and the EA store, either as a Birthday Bundle or individually.
This is a significant event for Simmers, as these titles haven't been readily available for purchase for almost a decade. EA has overcome compatibility issues, releasing versions optimized for modern computers, fulfilling a long-awaited wish for many fans.

The Sims 4's "Blast From The Past" event brings back iconic items from earlier games. Over four weeks, expect new additions like neon inflatable chairs, a three-layer cake, a light-up dance floor, and even wired phones.
The Sims FreePlay Birthday Update transports players back to the series' roots with new Live Events ("The One with the Coffee Shop" and "Reality Island"), a velour tracksuit, 25 days of daily gifts, and a Social Town museum showcasing The Sims' history.
