Wingspan's Asia Expansion: A Flight of New Birds and Game Modes

The popular strategy video game, Wingspan, is preparing for a significant expansion: Wingspan: Asia Expansion, launching later this year. While a precise release date remains unannounced, players can anticipate a captivating update featuring new avian species, a fresh game mode, and stunning Asian landscapes.

Exploring the Asia Expansion:

This expansion introduces a breathtaking array of new birds from across Asia, each boasting unique abilities and intriguing facts. Expect to encounter feathered friends from India, China, and Japan. The expansion also includes:

  • Eight New Player Portraits: Reflecting local cultural influences, eight new player portraits add a unique regional touch.
  • Duet Mode: Engage in intense head-to-head competition with the new Duet Mode. Players will battle for habitat spaces and strive for unique end-of-round objectives on a dedicated Duet Map.

Haven't Tried Wingspan Yet?

Based on Elizabeth Hargrave's acclaimed card-based board game, Wingspan's digital adaptation (released on PC in 2020 and mobile in 2021) challenges players to strategically attract birds to their wildlife preserves, creating powerful combinations. Gameplay involves careful resource management, balancing food, egg-laying, and card draws within a limited number of turns. Bird abilities mirror their real-world counterparts, from hawks hunting to geese flocking.

While awaiting the Asia Expansion, players can explore the European and Oceania expansions available on the Google Play Store.
