"We're designing destruction mechanics with clear visual/audio feedback so players instantly understand interactivity," explained DICE developers. "From bullet-penetrable walls to explosive demolition, every action reshapes the combat landscape."
Permanent Environmental Changes Add Tactical Depth
The system delivers lasting battlefield consequences - collapsed structures leave usable rubble cover, while breached walls create permanent flanking routes. Players gain tactical freedom to:
- Demolish structures to establish sniper sightlines
- Create improvised cover from rubble
- Open unexpected attack routes during engagements
"Our goal is making environmental manipulation intuitive yet strategically rewarding," the developers noted. Audio cues and visual damage progression provide real-time feedback on structural integrity.

While officially unannounced, industry leaks suggest the project (codenamed Battlefield 6) marks a return to contemporary combat. Targeting EA's FY2026 window (April 2025-March 2026), the title appears positioned to compete in next-gen military shooter space.
