Cosmic Update Hits Wild Rift in Patch 6.1, Mid-April

by Blake May 28,2025

Get ready for an epic cosmic journey with the upcoming LoL: Wild Rift Patch 6.1: Ascending Stars, launching later this month. This patch promises a stellar transformation, reshaping everything from the menus to the battlefield as you explore the enchanting Dual Nova galaxy, featuring the Challenger’s Star and Adventure’s Star.

The excitement kicks off with the addition of three new champions, each bringing unique abilities that could change the game's dynamics. Ryze, the Rune Mage, unleashes devastating area-of-effect damage and offers strategic team mobility with his Realm Warp. Nocturne, the Eternal Nightmare, thrives in chaos, using his Paranoia to cast enemies into darkness, creating opportunities for deadly strikes. Meanwhile, Zilean, the Chronokeeper, manipulates time, slowing adversaries and even reviving fallen allies with Chronoshift, adding a new layer of strategy to your gameplay.

Several champions are also receiving significant reworks. Garen's Courage now scales over time, enhancing his tankiness, while his Judgment ability will now shred enemy armor more effectively. Ambessa is transitioning from the jungle to the Baron lane, with adjustments to her damage output and life steal capabilities. Smaller, yet impactful, tweaks are also on the way for Diana, Fiora, Jax, Sona, and Kalista, promising to refresh their roles on the battlefield.

Beyond champion updates, a new Bandle-inspired Rift is set to debut in non-Ranked modes, introducing Enchanted Gifts that appear through portals during the laning phase, adding an extra layer of strategy and fun. Mages will also benefit from eagerly anticipated item updates. The new Bandle Fantasy item will enhance burst damage, while Hextech GLP800 will slow enemies with its frost bombs, and Malignance will amplify ultimate abilities, making spellcasters even more formidable.

Ranked mode is not left behind, with a new season starting in tandem with the Challenger’s Star's launch. Expect updates to the Ranked store and a more accessible way to earn seasonal rewards. Midway through the patch, the Adventure’s Star will unlock, introducing AAAARAM, a novel twist on the ARAM mode with galactic visuals and added augments.

The Wild Pass will feature two captivating skins: Wondertown Twisted Fate and Battlecast Nasus. Twisted Fate's new look introduces an entirely fresh skinline, promising visual delight and strategic depth.
